Report on FC EXPO and thank you for coming.
We exhibited at Smart Energy Week held from March 15(Wed) – 17(Fri), 2023 at Tokyo Big Sight. More than 100 representatives from more than 100 companies visited our booth over the three days of the exhibition. We would like to thank everyone who visited our booth.
In addition to the joint exhibition with our partner, Enoah Inc., we had a booth seminar on the demonstration of nacelle lidar borrowing a space from our group company, Eurus Energy Holdings.
We work not only on installation and sales of fuel cells, but also on value chain business of hydrogen with our partner. We actively do business related to offshore wind power as well.
Enoah Inc. is a leading company in Japan in fuel cell industry, and we provide joint solutions for pure hydrogen fuel cells with them. Enoah Inc. does hydrogen supply chain business which is a mixture of “provide”, “charge”, and “use.” Toyota Tsusho is responsible for (1) fuel cell procurement, (2) customer development, and (3) project management and is currently expanding the scope of collaboration with Enoah Inc.
At this year’s EXPO, we exhibited products from two companies: EFOY/EFOY Hydrogen fuel cells from SFC Energy AG and Doppler Lidar from ZX Lidars.

Fuel cells use either direct methanol or pure hydrogen as fuel. Direct methanol fuel cells differ in size and power generation depending on their concentration. SFC Energy’s fuel cells can be used in a wide variety of market segments as off-grid and backup power solutions, including but not limited to wind measurement, CCTV monitoring, environmental monitoring and traffic monitoring.
Furthermore, in anticipation of future domestic demand associated with the spread of offshore wind power generation, we are conducting an observation demonstration using nacelle lidar, a device to observe wind conditions. The aim of this demonstration is to increase the amount of power generation after the installation of wind turbines. We have identified the causes of the decline in power generation, and as a result, have demonstrated an improvement in power generation.

Here are some questions we received at the event.
- ・Will methanol power generation become mainstream in the future?
- ・What makes you apart from other companies in terms of methanol power generation (e.g. amount of electricity generated, size, and concentration)?
- ・Is it subject to the Fire Service Law?
- ・What other uses are there besides wind power generation?
- ・How much CO2 can it reduce?
- ・How much can it reduce CO2 compared to diesel generation?
For those who were not able to come to the event and those who are interested in fuel cells, we welcome inquiries at any time. Feel free to contact us.
